(Yes or No)
Shall a government study commission of seven members be elected to study the existing form of government of Towamencin Township, to consider the advisability of the adoption of a home rule charter; and if advisable, to draft and to recommend a home rule charter?
Plain English
Under Pennsylvania’s Home Rule Charter and Optional Plans law a question has been placed on the ballot asking voters to approve the formation of a government study commission consisting of seven members to study the existing form of government in Towamencin Township. A majority yes vote on this question would approve the formation of the government study commission. If the commission is approved, the commission would determine if the adoption of a home rule charter is advisable. If the commission determines that the adoption of a home rule charter is advisable they would recommend its adoption, draft a home rule charter, and the question on the adoption of that home rule charter for Towamencin Township would be placed on the ballot in a future election to be approved or rejected by electors of the Township. A majority yes vote on that future question would adopt the home rule charter.
